Here at Finline, with over 40 sofa models & over 4,000 fabrics to choose from, sofa shopping can be confusing. You can see a small selection online, but we have many more books in-store. We do our very best to help everyone who comes through our doors, but for now, we have made trying to choose a sofa that bit more difficult by introducing the option of having Leather. At the moment we only offer leather for our Louis Sofa, Leather Sola Sofa and chaise end sofa & our Queen Anne Chair as well as some nice footstool & ottoman options.
You now have to ask yourself do you want fabric or leather? There are no right answers.
We will go through the advantages of leather with this little handy guide.
Care
With the right care, leather sofas can last for a lifetime. Leather sofas are very easy to clean – usually a light dusting or rub down a couple of times a year – where fabric needs to be vacuumed and cleaned regularly. Spills are easily cleaned & won’t destroy the leather.
Hypoallergenic
Leather sofas don’t hold on to dust mites, and other allergens as easily as the fabric does.
Durability
Leather is very durable; they wear so well, making them worth that bit of extra money. Leather is naturally tough which can with stand most everyday accidents, even if you put a mark on it, it will add to the personality & character of the sofa. Like a fine wine – the older the piece of leather the better it can look !!
Guide to maintaining Your Leather Sofas
With proper maintenance, you can keep your leather sofa looking the best for years to come.
As we mentioned above leather sofas are durable but please remember they are not invincible. The worst thing to do with a leather sofa is doing nothing at all.
By neglecting you leather sofa you soon will start wondering why your sofa looks so dirty and damaged. Spills should be dealt with quickly, don’t ever let the stain linger on the sofa for to long as this can cause discolouration. A dry, soft cloth can be used to blot the area for spills and a baby wipe can be used to remove light dirt marks.
One of the easiest ways to keep you leather sofa looking sharp is by dusting it often. By doing this, it will prevent any dirt from finding its way into the creases in the leather.
